A new research project has been relased highlighting a change of UK’s outdoors consumers. The report commissions by Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) called Shaping the Future tested the views of over 10,000 people in the Uk.
The trends in the report show that more people are going outdoors and they are tending to participate in more than one activity during the day.
Walking remains the most popular activity with 91% of people participate regularly is followed by road cycling, 29% and 22% moutain biking.
Trhe good news is that thee people are more than willing to buy green kit, which is good for manufactures and shops selling camping goods.
Frank Bennett, chairman of the OIA, comments:
“Shaping the Future describes an industry in good shape as we approach a new decade, and one that is sofar coping well in a difficult economic climate. Everything points to increased participation in outdoor activities, but in a ‘fractured’ manner. More people are venturing into the outdoors on a regular basis and they are trying their hands at many different activities over one day or weekend.
