What makes a good camping chair? In my opinion there are three vital ingredients. Fulfil these requirements and you have the perfect camping chair.

Firstly and perhaps most obviously, the chair should be comfortable. Back in the day, camping chairs were functional things, but these days they’re far better designed and you can really sink into them.

Secondly, it should be relatively small and light. There are some chairs which are ridiculously space-saving which compromise on comfort and there are some which are sturdy but cumbersome. There’s a balance.

Finally, any good camping chair should have a drinks holder in the arm. This is one of mankind’s all-time greatest developments. Having somewhere handy to rest your beer when you’re sat in a camping chair unarguably makes the world a better place.
