Around 300 tents were wrecked in high winds and one camper was hurt. The Shell Island campsite near Barmouth had to open a emergency shelter for the campers which totaled around 3,000. Around £150,000 worth of damage was done to the site

Richard Workman a co owner commented: “The ambulance service was called out three times on Sunday night. One lad was knocked by a pole as he was trying to save his tent.”

The major injury was to a gentleman’s eye, he was hit by a tent pole. It wasn’t thought that the injury was serious.
