Chinese tent makers are going all out to produce 120,000 tents by mid June to help aim homeless residents after the devastating earthquake in China on the 12th of May.
Yang Baoqing, the board chairman of Zhejiang Taipusen Leisure Goods Co., Ltd. in eastern Zhejiang Province has advised that his company is working flat our to produce as many tents for the survivors. President Hu Jintao even paid a visit to the factory to urge on workers to continue making tents. At the moment tents are being sent in packs of 1,000, a team of 3,000 staff are working on the production line.
The capacity of the production lines in the factories has more than quadrupled to keep up the demand, although this is being eased by tent being sent in thanks to support from the international community.
