I thought a top ten camping tips would be a good idea to get some important points over quickly.

1. Pack a day before, this way if you haven’t got an item you have a spare day to buy that last item.

2. Pack a set of clothes in a sealed plastic bag. This should be saved for the last day, you never want to travel home in wet clothes.

3. Suncream, even if you don’t think it’s going to be that sunny pack some. If you get sunburnt this will lead to dehydration. Add alcohol to the mix and you in for problems.

4. Small electric tourch. Your in new surrounding and you may be getting back to your tent late at night. To avoid tripping over guyropes and falling over a small tourch will light up the way.

5. Two ways to light fire - matches and a lighter. One might fail so have a backup. Pack the matches in a sealed plastic bag or get waterproof matches.

6. Pack bin bags, the have so many uses, put rubbish in, wet clothes, seat, rain mac, Halloween costume…

7. Take gaffa/duck tape, again lots of uses, patch up tents, bags, broken poles.

8. Pack clothes at the bottom of your back to cusion the bag when putting it down.

9. Wetwipes, so many uses, try to get biodegradable wet wiped.

10. Beer, makes camping a little more fun.
