Times are tight and even the the 2.5 % drop in VAT it’s not going to help much on buying small products such as camping equipment. So if you need some equipment on the cheap there are a few options open.
- Ebay, you can normally get new products cheaper or second hand products at really discount prices.
- Gum Tree - a Social site where you can list product for sale. This may be a good way to get a bulk of equipment, stove, tent, pans etc
- Free Cycle - an e-mail syndication where you can list items that you want to get rid off. The best part it’s all free, the bad bit you need to go and collect the prodcuts yourself.
- Voucher codes - crawl voucher code sites for discounts at retailers like argos, tesco etc. Normally you get 10 % off or free delivery.
- Charity shops, there may be a limited range but it’s a good opportunity to get cheap camping equipment
As ever, the cheaper the lower the quaility will be. It might be the case that second hand equipment may be faulty and that can lead to injury or death. For example a stove with a gas leak may blow up in your tent. So be careful when buying second hand equipment.
