Following on from the post about the camping pods at Grizedale Forrest I’ve come across another unusual place to stay. Luxury round yurts. Whats a Yurt I here you ask well it’s a round shelter which has been used for thousands of years in the East and Central Asia. All the way from Iran to Mongolia.The frame is made out of wood, a conical roof and covered in animal hide.

These modern yurts are located near to Ambleside in the Lake District and are designed to house around 6 people, these are luxury so include, fridges, books, games, heaters, grills etc which does mean they are expensive to rent but great for a group of friends or larger family.
