Decathlon picked up six awards at the US International Design Excellence Awards, one was for their integration of a self-inflating mattress into a sleeping bag. The idea was described as a ‘brilliant design for an even better cause’, mainly due to fact it’s aimed at getting more people camping who wouldn’t normally try.

We’ve blogged before about self-inflating mattress before and it’s good to see that companies are moving forward with the technology. We’ve already seen self-inflating mats, tents and pillows, what’s next?
