As we know there are many essential when going camping, from a tent to a sleeping bag to cooking equipment. But one item of essential equipment I always forget a torch and batteries.

For some bizarre reason I always forget that when camping and your coming back late from a meal or night at the pub it’s going to be dark which means it’s going to be touch to walk through the tents.

For anyone who has been to a festival will know that drunk people, guide ropes and the dark don’t mix. Many times I’ve been woken in the middle of the night with a person led on top of my tent following a drunk person tripping up over a tent.

To avoid your being the “faller” a touch is a handy tool to have when making your way back to your tent. You can either go for a small hand held torch powered by two AA batteries or if your feeling a little adventurous a head touch powered by either a AAA battery or a watch battery. The head touch allows you to keep both hands free to carry food or beer.

It’s most important that you buy spare batteries from battery suppliers before the festival as they can be really expensive at a festival store.
