We’ve been asking recently which is the best place in Europe to camp. One of the options not in the poll was Bulgaria. Over the past few years Bulgaria has become a very popular place for tourists from the UK and people buying a second home due to low house prices.
Camping hasn’t really caught on much in Bulgaria due to the low prices of property still. So people are buying houses rather than camping. After Bulgaria’s accession into the EU on January 1st 2007 there has been an increase in people willing to buy property in the country and an increase in tourism, around 7 million people visit every year.
One option for campers is staying near to the Black Sea in Arapia, the beach is great, there’s a wind surf school and scuba diving school so there’s plenty to do at the beach.
Another nice place to stay is Varna, near the Black Sea again the campsite in Varna will cost only 5 Euro a night and it’s two minutes from the beach. If the campsite doesn’t take your fancy then you could look for property in Varna it’s cheap and the best bit is there are over 20 beach bars!
